1988 - This photo was taken by my Dad: this is when Evren and Mum arrived in the UK.
I was still in Turkey with my 2 older brothers as there were complications with our visa’s.
This photo is so special for me as Evren looks so innocent and content, he looks very happy.
6 months later our visas were approved and we were re-united with Evren, Mum and Dad.
We attended the same school in Thornton Heath. Obviously that 6 month separation was hard on both of us because Evren and I were very close. We always had been!
This photo was taken at school where we both attended. We walked to school together, we went to breaks together and we walked home together.
Obviously Evren was the baby of the family as he was
In this photo Evren is holding our nephew Tarik. My older brother Ozgur’s son.
This is where Evren felt he was the older figure now.
He is not the baby of the family anymore!
He will be a figure to look up to. He held him so gently and protectively that it looks like he is telling him “Don’t worry I’m going to be there for you. I will be the one who will teach you football, help you study and also handle the girls. I am there for you....”
This is the picture of us and our two
cousins. The 4 of us all grew up together.
They are my aunt’s children Emrah and Ebru.
When we used to get together it was always about playing and constantly joking around.
You can see from the photo we were always having fun together.
This was our first big family holiday. We were in a hotel in Bodrum. It was one of the best holidays ever. We did so much together and had great fun.
In the photo we were about to go to dinner. We are both glammed up: hair done, nails done, and looking and feeling incredible.
In the hotel garden, the hotel’s photographer took this picture. There is something special in this photo. When you stare in to his eyes you can see through his soul. He looks so innocent. His eyes can tell you so much.
I don’t know, I can read saying “look at me! I am cheeky but I am happy as well. You can tell he is enjoying himself. He is having the time of his life on
This is Evren’s high school graduation. This is where Evren got his GCSE results. He realized academically he was quite intelligent, we were all so very proud of him.
We had so much hope for him.
His record of achievement is in his hand and he is saying, “I’ve done it, I’ve done it!”
Then Evren successfully finished 6th form before graduating from Kingston University with first degree honors.
This is a picture of 4 of us. From left to right is me Elif, my oldest brother Bulent, Evren and my middle brother Ozgur.
Obviously we are much older in this
photo. We all are in our early and late 20s. None of us are teens anymore. Both our older brothers Bulent and Ozgur are married. They have got their own
responsibilities. Evren is still studying. I graduated from University and started the working life. This is the moment we all got together in front of our house and my mum said, “let me take your picture while I got all my four children together”.
! ! ! ! ! !
This was the one of the last picture of us all together.
This was another one of the best holidays ever. We are not kids anymore but grown up
and independent. We went to Miami together. Evren loved it because he was amongst 5/6 girls who are all my close friends. Evren had a great relationship with each and every one of them. He was quite close to them. From a very young age I introduced Evren to my friends and he kept contact and not only looked after me, but also my girlfriends. He was quite pally and friendly with them. Evren was a brother figure and protective over all of us. I wanted Evren to come with us. One, because he would take care of us and secondly because I wanted him to experience what I experienced.
